There's a popular belief that food from a truck is better than food from "not a truck." There is definite truth to this.
We've been in South Florida beachin' with our dearest friends.
Because of the great reviews on Yelp, we decided to check out Tacos Al Carbon (tacos charcoal grilled) in Lake Worth, FL.
It's a tiny restaurant with food trucks outside. We opted for the outdoors.

The weather was beautiful, the food was great and the company of our friends made it a perfect evening!
Guess what we ordered? TACOS!
Jon is one of the pastors at our church and the author of this daily devotional. I thought that he would have ordered the "tacos al PASTOR" but he went with "CARNAL asada" like the rest of us (that was a lame bible joke).
Everyone had roasted corn on the cob. There were a variety of toppings, but the favorite of the night was buttery parmesan.
The guacamole was fresh and tasty and topped with shredded cheese. Not as good as Mrs. Buena Vida's Gua-nderful Guacamole, but good none the less. The chips were house made and very thick and crunchy (muy authentico).
They also served an avocado sauce which I didn't care for. They sold two salsas, a mild red and a hotter verde. I liked the heat from the green salsa (all three are pictured below).
The nachos were off the hook! But I'm nasty like that. I'll smother liquid-gold-heart attack on my chips any day!

The Carne Asada Tacos (steak tacos) were great. The meat seemed a bit over cooked (dry) but over all pretty good. The chicken tacos with crispy shells were fantastico.
Overall, it wasn't the best Mexican food that we've had (I'm picky), but it was pretty good and we had a great time. We'll definitely be back! Next time I'll be sure to try a tamale!
