Mediterranean flavors... This is another accidental recipe brought on by my severe nighttime cravings. For the past several months I've been whipping up this simple healthy dip, mainly 'cause I always seem to have greek yogurt and tahini sitting in the back of my fridge and some random veggie hiding in the crisper.
I know that you think that I must be an idiot because just about every recipe I post includes chili powder and cumin. I'm reminded of this because my next post is going to be Grilled Shrimp Salad with Lemon-Chili dressing and yeah, it features chili powder and cumin.
What can I do? I like what I like and I suffer from unoriginality. Ha. Try it! If you like it, let me know! If you think I'm a moron, um you're right (but I don't wanna hear about it).
Serve this gluten-free dip with raw veggies and pretend that you're getting skinny (warm naan & tortilla chips are great too).
- 1 C. Plain, Non Fat Greek Strained Yogurt ('cause I know you people are afraid of fat)
- 1/4 C. Tahini
- 1 T. Fresh Lemon Juice
- 1/2 tsp Chili Powder
- 1/2 tsp Ground Cumin
- 1/2 tsp Onion Powder
- 1 tsp Salt
Mix it up, in a bowl. That's it! Serves four.
Now, now. I know what you're thinking. Why not fresh garlic? Well, I've made it with garlic many times, but I ALWAYS regret it the next morning. That's why.
My daughters love this dip by the way...It's kind of a sneaky way to get your loved ones to eat their veggies.
